Equine Hydrotherapy
Equine hydrotherapy uses water as a method of providing rehabilitation following an injury, as well as being used to help build and maintain fitness in some cases. Types of hydrotherapy suitable for horses include swimming, water treadmills and spas, as well as traditional cold hosing of limbs which helps stop fluid buildup and provides pain relief.
Equine Dentistry
An equine dentist specializes in the oral health of horses. Specialized tools are used to conduct procedures such as floating, bit seat creation, incisor realignment, wave and hook correction and tooth extraction. They also treat horses with contagious oral diseases. Please refer to our Equine Dental Technician Authority by State for coverage availability.
Equine Massage Therapy
Equine Massage Therapy uses a variety of massage techniques and strokes to stimulate blood flow to different areas of the body. This encourages blood flow and brings in oxygen and other nutrients, at the same time removing lactic acid build up and eliminating other metabolic waste from the body. This encourages injured muscles to heal, and healthy muscles to stay flexible and pain free.
Veterinary Services
The AmRisk Veterinary & Animal Services Insurance Program can provide coverage for both Commercial & Professional liability as well as buildings and personal property at the described premises. Automobile, Care, Custody & Control or animal bailee coverage and Workman’s Compensation coverage is also available.
Farrier Insurance
The AmRisk Farrier Insurance policy is designed to respond to the specific needs of a professional farrier. Legal cases and lawsuits are more prevalent as technology, and information increases to identify the cause of laminitis, lameness, improper hoof angles and/or using pads improperly, more horse owners are likely to point the finger at the farrier when things go wrong. This plan gives you the ability to buy broad property and liability coverage at preferred rates.
Equine Thermal Therapy
Thermal therapies, each through different methods, limit tissue damage and improve or speed up healing. The goal is to restore the affected area to full function. The application of cold or cryo-therapy is the most common and the most effective if used in the acute phase, post injury or surgery. Heat therapy increases the metabolic activity in cells, which leads to locally increased demand for oxygen, and subsequent induced capillary dilation.
